Technology is a solution finder to environmental issues. Computers, artificial intelligence, and the internet can assist in accumulating data useful in understanding the negative impact of technology on the environment and finding a solution to problems caused. 

Green technology also has a positive impact on the environment. Companies and individuals are realizing the importance of protecting the environment and are embracing environmentally friendly technologies that release less carbon into the environment example the use of solar power and electricity in industries and power machines instead of petroleum products. 

The negative impact of technology

Technology use in the industrial sector leads to air and water pollution and depletion of natural resources. 

Wastes from industries are released into the air in the form of carbon and greenhouse emissions leading to air pollution. The wastes are also deposited in the ocean, rivers, and land. 

Waste products like plastics do not decompose causing toxicity in the environment. Toxicity can enter the food chain and affect, humans, animals, and plants. For example, in Kenya, the Nairobi River has become too toxic and cannot serve humanity until cleaned.

The use of technology has enhanced service delivery. It has helped improve customer service delivery, speed up communication, increase convenience, and provide an option for self-service options.

Technology also impacts the way products are designed and services delivered. Products and services are delivered personalized based on the client’s needs and wants. It has increased the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery due to the use of machines, computers, and the internet of things that helps minimize human errors. 

Financial technologies have helped reduce time wastage, people no longer travel to banks to get cash, they transact whenever and wherever they are. Education too can be acquired at a person’s convenience via online learning.

Technology has impacted the way talent is acquired and managed. With the internet, the pool for talent has widened. Advertisement for talent reaches more people and an employer can acquire the best talent at a competitive price. Also, the internet creates a platform in which individuals and organizations can share, advertise, and sell their talents to the world.

Technology has helped shape leadership positively. With the increased flow of information, leaders can get instant feedback from those they lead. Instructions, directions, and meetings can be done virtually, reducing time wastage and unnecessary bureaucracy and office politics. 

Technology has helped increase the network of leaders whereby leaders can consult each other making it no longer lonely at the top.
